Booth construction: The booth walls and roof are made of 18 gauge or thicker steel that has been G90 galvanized. The booth utilizes a single panel design. The walls and roof are connected via a track system. The booth is bolted together and one to multiple exhaust units are integrated into the booth’s walls.
Lighting: The spray enclosure includes roof-mounted or side wall light fixtures designed to accommodate four standard 48” T-8 bulbs. These fixtures are mounted on special panels that include factory-provided reinforcement. The light fixtures are mounted in the field over sheets of ¼” tempered safety glass that are sealed in place. The light fixtures are accessible only from the booth’s exterior. Optional interior access lights are available.
Exhaust units: United Air Specialists, MCB Freestanding, Pulse-Jet Cartridge Dust Collectors provide continuous duty cleaning.
Dust laden air will be collected by the MCB modules in a horizontal pattern away from the breathing zone of the worker. The impingement louvers at the air inlet cause an even distribution of the airflow across the width of the module as well as knocking down larger particles causing them to fall towards the dust collection drawers. Dust is then collected on the cartridge filters. The clean air passes through the unit and exits through the exhaust panels located on the top of the modules.
The MCB Series of cartridge dust collectors effectively remove fine airborne dusts while providing workers space for unrestricted movement to perform industrial processes. Available as 3′, 6′ or 9′ modules, the MCB cartridge collector can be used alone or in combination with a containment booth.
MCB industrial air cleaners use an enclosed pulse cleaning system that reduces sound levels up to 50% more than competitive environmental control booth units. Plus, this cross ventilation series of dust collectors requires no duct work, fewer assembly modules and less electrical hookups and motors for easy installation.
Air volumes range from 4,500 CFM to 36,000 CFM, depending on the quantity and types of filter cartridges used.
The MCB dust collector must include United Air Specialists’ NANOFIBER high-efficiency cartridge filters. These filters shall be constructed using ADVANCED NANOFIBER FILTRATION TECHNOLOGY, and be MERV 15 rated when tested in accordance with ASHRAE 52.2. This MERV 15 filter efficiency rating shall be obtained when testing new, unused (“out of the box”) filters, without pre-coating or without previously applied dust cake on the filter media. The NANOFIBER surface layer fibers are to be no larger then 100 nanometers in diameter, and made of non-water soluble, continuously run filaments that are rated to be up to 99.999% efficient on 0.5 microns size particulate.
The cartridge filters are 39” in length x 12 ¾” OD and each provides 340 ft2 of media. The filters can be effectively cleaned either on-line or off-line with a reverse pulse-jet cleaning system, located entirely inside of the module. Filters are accessed from the front of the module by opening the louvered doors. No tools are required for cartridge removal. Filters conveniently slide in and out of the cabinet using a Cambar locking bar mechanism that holds the filters in place during operation. The use of the Cambar locking bar insures that the cartridges are self-aligning.
Controls:
MAGNEHELIC GAUGE – NEMA 12 (Standard with Base Unit)
Pulse cleaning control provided by the Pulse Control Panel in a NEMA 12 enclosure. The system is an automatic, on-line reverse pulse cleaning system that includes a solid state sequential pulse control timer and a Magnehelic® Gauge. Resistance nozzles are integrally mounted in the pulse pipes and compressed air (90-110 PSIG required) is delivered through 1" Turbo diaphragm valves. The pulse is activated by pre-wired solenoid pilot valves in a NEMA 4 enclosure located on the front of the module. The valves are sequenced by a solid state timer board with adjustable pulse duration and frequency controls. The resulting shock wave and induced clean air will momentarily reverse the airflow through the cartridge and dislodge the accumulated dust cake. The nozzle design, coupled with the solid state controls, provides effective cleaning and low fatigue of the filters. The Magnehelic® Gauge provides a continuous display of filter pressure drop.
Booth-related parts supplied by others: Exhaust duct is not required. Light bulbs, parts for electrical service connection to the control panel, and field wiring components are provided by other companies and are not considered part of the Reliant Finishing Systems deliverable.
